Chris holds a B.A. in Journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Minnesota teaching license with an English Language Arts content specialty. Chris has more than 12 years of teaching experience in public and private schools, and she is passionate about developing confident, exceptional readers and writers. Chris is able to get the very best from every student – the struggling to the gifted – by establishing a genuine, caring relationship in which to lay a strong foundation. Besides being a grammarian at heart, Chris has extensive content knowledge in middle school through high school English, and enthusiasm that is contagious. Chris brings this enthusiasm to one-on-one instruction and ACT prep where she knows she will build confidence in students and maximize their potential.

Chris is Orton-Gillingham trained, and she has worked extensively with the Strategic Writing Instruction Model, an integrated approach to teaching grammar, mechanics and writing, from the University of Kansas.

Prior to teaching, Chris worked as a journalist in Philadelphia and New York City. She and her family relocated to the Minneapolis area in 2002.
